Salary Range: $35,152 + Incentives

 

Summary Description: The Outside Sales Pre-Sell Salesman position is the cornerstone of the sales organization and is responsible for maximizing and promoting sales of supplier brands to retail customer accounts through effective negotiations, data-based communication and overall sales execution while promoting exceptional customer service.

Essential Functions: (must be able to perform these functions, with or without a reasonable accommodation). 

  • Responsible for adhering to the required call frequency on assigned retail customer accounts, primarily to sell volume, increase distribution and increase share of shelf space.
  • Build business relationships with decision makers within retail customer accounts to maximize sales.
  • Utilize historical sales data combined with industry data to create and present professional sales presentations.
  • Responsible for making daily decisions regarding retail inventory levels using past sales history, changes in climate, competition activity and special promotional activities.
  • Ensure published product freshness standards are maintained in assigned retail accounts by monitoring product code dates and booking exchanges for any close to code products.
  • Sell in new product placements (new brands and new packages).
  • Increase our share of shelf space ensuring new space comes out of competition.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Maintain grooming, dress and hygiene that conveys a professional, clean, neat and businesslike appearance.
  • Attend sales and team meetings as directed by management. Interact daily with managers to discuss and resolve sales issues.
  • Participate in evening and weekend promotions as necessary.
  • Responsible for any other tasks deemed necessary by the District Manager, Sales Manager and/or Sales Director.
  • Work with the Accounts Receivable department to resolve credit issues, including the collection of past due balances.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.) as well as all related software applications required for the position.
  • Must be able and willing to work long and flexible hours.
  • Must have strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to calculate simple math functions.
  •

  • Other Duties and Responsibilities: 

      Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.     Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
                             

     Education/Experience Guidelines: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

      High School Diploma
    • Must be at least 21 years of age.

      One year of selling or merchandising experience in the beverage industry or grocery retail is preferred.

    • Experience with CPG or B2B sales preferred.
    • Must maintain a valid Class C driver’s license and remain insurable in accordance with company standards.
