About this position

Overview 

The Manufacturing Technician 2 operates manufacturing equipment with limited supervision, executing batch records and supporting in-process sampling to ensure quality production. 

Core Responsibilities 

  • Operate various manufacturing equipment such as blenders, granulators, tablet presses, encapsulators, or coating machines. 

  • Execute batch records, including material additions, process steps, and parameter adjustments, with limited supervision. 

  • Perform in-process sampling and testing; record results and report deviations or anomalies to supervisors. 

  • Assist with troubleshooting equipment and process issues, collaborating with maintenance when necessary. 

  • Ensure proper cleaning and changeover of equipment between batches to prevent cross-contamination. 

  • Follow GMP documentation practices and maintain accurate, detailed records of all activities. 

  • Train or mentor less-experienced technicians on equipment operation and GMP practices. 

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes and reduce waste. 

  • Other duties as assigned 

Technical Competencies 

  • Proficiency with multiple unit operations and understanding of process sequences. 

  • Ability to read and execute batch records and SOPs accurately. 

  • Basic troubleshooting skills for mechanical and process issues. 

  • Knowledge of GMP documentation and in-process control requirements. 

  • Understanding of equipment cleaning and changeover procedures.

Education and Experience Requirements 

  • High School diploma or GED. 

  • 2–5 years of GMP manufacturing experience. 

  • Experience with pharmaceutical production equipment preferred.
