SUMMARY:
The R.N. I maintains quality patient care through consistent standards of nursing practice in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. Utilizes the nursing process: assess, diagnosis, plan, implement and evaluate to execute appropriate individual patient care. The R.N. is instrumental in providing an exceptional experience for patient and family.
The RN is the leader of the care delivery team. The RN collaborates with members of the multidisciplinary team; coordinates the care of the patients on the team and effectively communicates the goals of the patients and the team daily. The RN is responsible for maintaining exceptional quality and safety while building an effective and efficient care team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assessment - Perform initial and ongoing assessment of the patient; demonstrate exceptional clinical judgment and advanced assessment skills; communicate and document assessment with interdisciplinary team; utilize all available resources in order to meet the needs of the patient and family.
- Planning & Implementation - Develop and document plan of care, treatment and services; collaborate interdisciplinary health team to deliver care; maintains an appropriate nurse-patient relationship and provides an exceptional experience for the patient and family.
- Evaluation & Education - Evaluate, communicate and document patient responses to care; revise plan of care based on ongoing evaluations; ensure the patient receives and understands education/training specific to their needs and abilities.
- Training - Provide training for new team members on the unit; assume role of teacher for nursing students and other students shadowing on the unit; act as a resource for other team members for both clinical and non-clinical matters.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Registered Nurse License in State of New York.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates in Human Services or equivalent combination of education and work experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology or Human Services preferred.
- 1-3 years of healthcare experience in related field preferred.
- Strong communication skills.

- AS: Nursing (Required)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
- RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)
- BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA)
PAY RANGE: $38.67 - $51.92
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
