Position Overview:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting end-to-end accounts receivable processes, ensuring accurate recording of transactions in SAP S/4, maintaining customer account integrity, and supporting financial closing and audit activities. Experience with third-party logistics (3PL) operations is a plus. This role will report to Senior Accountant and will have the opportunity for career rotation into other focused areas within the Finance team. The best candidate should be a team player, a self starter, and a fast learner, highly curious and organized with strong attention to detail and capable of handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and always seeking path for process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process and record A/R invoices, including posting incoming payments and applying them accurately to corresponding customer accounts
  • Manage electronic remittances and reconcile remittance details with accounting records
  • Record A/R invoice details in SAP S/4HANA and prepare related reconciliations with proper supporting documentation
  • Coordinate and reconcile invoices and payments with third-party logistics (3PL) where applicable
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer master data, including contact information, credit limits, and payment terms
  • Support month-end and quarterly closing activities, including performing account reconciliations, preparing journal entries, maintaining organized financial documentation
  • Assist with internal and external audit processes, including responding to requests from headquarters
  • Ensure confidentiality, accuracy, and security of financial data, records, and files
  • Handle ad hoc assignments as required, including serving as backup support for Accounts Payable related tasks
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2+ years of accounting experience (Accounts Receivable/general accounting experience required; combination with public accounting experience preferred but not required)
  • Hands-on experience with SAP S/4 (preferred)
  • Experience with third-party logistics operations or billing (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and reconciliation processes
  • Comprehensive understanding and strong intuition in internal controls
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate crossfunctionally
  • Demonstrate curiocity, critical thinking, strong analytical and ability to proactively problem solving
  • Clear communication skills both in writing and verbally

The expected salary range for this position based on greater Boston, MA location is $85,000-$95,000.  Actual salary pay will be based on multiple factors, including geographic location, experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
