Facilities & Maintenance Manager – North America

About the Role
TIGER Drylac is seeking an experienced Facilities & Maintenance Manager – North America to lead maintenance operations and ensure regulatory compliance across our facilities. This role is responsible for maintaining equipment reliability, facility integrity, and safety standards while aligning maintenance practices across North America using common KPIs and operational standards.
The successful candidate will lead maintenance teams, implement preventive maintenance strategies, and collaborate with operations, safety, and engineering teams to support efficient manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Equipment Management
- Develop and implement Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) strategies.
- Coordinate and perform repairs on production equipment.
- Manage and respond to emergency equipment breakdowns.
- Support troubleshooting and optimization of manufacturing equipment.
Facility & Infrastructure Management
- Ensure facilities remain operational, safe, and compliant with EHS regulations.
- Coordinate building maintenance, cleaning services, and external contractors.
- Manage contractor certifications and regulatory documentation.
- Oversee security of facility operations.
Operational Support
- Align maintenance standards and KPIs across North American facilities.
- Manage spare parts inventory and asset tracking.
- Support implementation and utilization of SAP Maintenance Module.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure maintenance operations comply with EHS and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in health & safety committee meetings.
- Support incident investigations and corrective actions.
- Coordinate emergency response activities and serve as a first responder in building emergencies.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and mentor Maintenance Supervisors and technical staff.
- Conduct interviews, onboarding, and training for maintenance team members.
- Manage team performance and support employee development.
- Foster a safe, collaborative, and high-performing work environment.
Customer Experience & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure maintenance processes support production efficiency and customer expectations.
- Identify and implement improvements to maintenance workflows.
- Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
Administrative & Financial Responsibilities
- Manage maintenance reporting and documentation.
- Oversee maintenance budgets and asset inventories.
- Monitor team KPIs and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Qualifications
Education
- Technical degree in a related field (Engineering, Maintenance, or similar).
- Additional coursework in regulatory compliance preferred.
- HVAC, electrical, or plumbing certifications considered an asset.
Experience
- 10+ years of manufacturing-related experience
- 5+ years in a supervisory or leadership role
- Experience in multi-cultural environments is an asset.
Technical Skills
- Strong mechanical and maintenance troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and TPM systems.
- Knowledge of industrial equipment (extruders, mills, mixers preferred).
- Experience with SAP or maintenance management systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Additional Knowledge
- Electrical, PLC, plumbing, or HVAC experience considered an asset.
- Facility management experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, ISO systems, and OSHA standards.
Languages
- English (required)
- Spanish considered an asset
Working Conditions
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Availability for occasional weekends and emergency on-call situations required
- Work in a manufacturing plant environment with industrial equipment
- Travel to other North American facilities (U.S. and Mexico) may be required
