Operates multiple machines with minimal supervision, performs moderately complex setups, and begins training on automated equipment. Builds skills in applicator setups, material specs, HMI/Cayman programming, ISO 9001 standards, and NAV material tracking—preparing for advancement within the department. 


Primary Functions and Responsibilities 

  • Operate Multiple Machines: Run various machines with minimal supervision to support production goals. 
  • Intermediate Machine Setups: Learn and perform moderately difficult setups with partial supervision. 
  • Automated Equipment Training: Begin training on automated machines to build advanced capabilities. 
  • Applicator Setups: Learn to install and adjust applicators for proper terminal crimping. 
  • Material Specification Knowledge: Understand crimp heights, insulation crimps, and material specs under moderate supervision. 
  • Production Setup Programming: Create and modify production setups using HMI and Cayman programs (moderate supervision). 
  • ISO 9001 Standards: Learn and apply ISO 9001 procedures to maintain production quality. 
  • Material Consumption in NAV: Begin tracking material use in NAV system with supervision. 
  • Advanced Project Support: Participate in complex projects as preparation for higher level  
  • Safety Compliance: Perform all duties in a safe manner, adhering to established safety protocols.  
  • Additional Duties: Undertake any other related duties as assigned when required. 
Requirements:

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Ability to operate multiple machines and perform intermediate setups with minimal supervision. 
  • Willingness to train on automated machinery and install/apply applicators for terminal crimping. 
  • Knowledge of crimp heights, insulation crimps, and material tracking in NAV. 
  • Ability to modify setups using HMI/Cayman programs and apply ISO 9001 standards. 
  • Strong commitment to safety protocols in the Wire Prep department.                                                                                                IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 2 & some Class 3 – Intermediate understanding and application. 
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications in machine operation is a plus. 
  •  1-2 years in a manufacturing or production environment. 

Working Environment 

Work requires repetitive work with most of the work done while standing. The work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment. Lifting up to 45 lbs. on an occasional basis is required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Occasional use of a mechanical lift is required.
