Location: Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, NY 11024, United States.

Job Type: Part time.

Qualifications:

2 years of professional experience in music education teaching high school or college and performances in teaching Percussion instruments such as snare rudiments, timpani, drumkit, and auxiliary percussion instruments.
Experience with marching, concert and auxiliary percussion, and drumkit also required.

Duties:

Conduct small group lessons focusing on ensemble playing, intonation, balance, blend, and stylistic accuracy.
Prepare students for performances.
Monitor and assess each student's progress, providing constructive feedback and adjustments to the lesson plans as needed.
Encourage and facilitate group practice sessions.
Maintain accurate records of each student's progress and attendance.
Communicate regularly with students and the Music Director regarding student progress, upcoming performances, and other relevant matters.
