About this position

The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Specialist provides administrative support to ensure the success of internal and external work that aligns with the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion team. The DEI Specialist will have a deep understanding of DEI principles that guide critical thinking, difficult conversations, and decision making. They will compile data and reports, create content for initiatives and lead coordination and outreach efforts. This role of DEI specialist works independently and will need to value confidentially.

essential duties

Planning and Navigation

  • Assist with the overall content of the agency’s website and SharePoint sites.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with community groups and organizations to identify opportunities for partnership, share and exchange information and plan events.
  • Assist with the implementation and facilitation of agency policies, programs, events, and training, designed to attract, retain, and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Collaboration and Implementation

  • Plan and facilitate diversity, equity, and inclusion programs, training, and events across the agency.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for diversity, equity, and inclusion outreach to internal groups, taskforces and committees, and to external groups and organizations.
  • Support the agency’s employee resource groups by coordinating meetings and other related activities and events.
  • Collaborate with the division of marketing and communications in creating brands for internal and external communications, including web content, with a strong focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Measurement and Evaluation

  • Maintain and track data points relative to agency diversity.
  • Work with Data Systems and Analytics to conduct initial data analytics and create benchmarks.
  • Assist with the creation of annual reports that surveys industry and client diversity based on requests from employees and clients, for information and proposal purposes.

we require:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a human-service field. In place of a degree, a high school diploma with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience can be substituted.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a diversity, equity and inclusion setting.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of MS365 Power Platform.
  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check & TB test
  • WA Driver’s license with a safe driving record
  • Proof of COVID vaccination
