Medix Infusion is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented PRN Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the Kansas City metro area. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients receiving infusion therapy in our outpatient clinic settings. You will work closely with our Intake, Scheduling, Pharmacy, and Clinical teams to ensure coordinated care and an exceptional patient experience.

Work Locations & Schedule

This is an onsite PRN opportunity with coverage needed across the following clinics:

  • Liberty, MO: Monday & Tuesday
     
  • Overland Park, KS: Wednesday
     
  • Lee’s Summit, MO: Thursday & Friday
     

Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM
You’ll be working as part of a small team with minimal supervision.

We specialize in disease management and infusion pharmacy services for chronic and acutely ill patients, particularly in underserved communities. Our personalized home and in-suite infusion therapies offer comfort, convenience, and high-quality care. Treatments include anti-infectives, biologics, IVIG, and other injectables.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and monitor infusion therapies according to physician orders and protocols.
     
  • Perform patient assessments and document clinical observations in the EMR system.
     
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (pharmacy, intake, scheduling) to ensure seamless care delivery.
     
  • Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, medications, and home care as needed.
     
  • Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with clinical and regulatory standards.
     
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of reimbursement practices and assist with necessary documentation for referrals.
     
  • Represent Medix Infusion professionally with patients, colleagues, and vendors.
     
  • Use tools such as Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Word, and Excel proficiently.
     

Required Qualifications

  • Active, unencumbered RN license in the state of Missouri and Kansas (or compact license).
     
  • Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
     
  • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience, preferably in an outpatient, home health, or infusion setting.
     
  • Strong clinical judgment and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
     
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
     
  • Competency in electronic medical records and Microsoft Office applications.
     
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
     

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, twisting, talking, and hearing.
     
  • Prolonged periods of computer use and reading.
     
  • Occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
     
  • Must be able to see, hear, and speak clearly to interact with patients and colleagues.
