About this position
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced aerospace tube bender who can independently set up, bend, and end-form complex tubing to print. The ideal candidate is strong on tight-tolerance multi-plane bends, rotations, and end forming features such as flares, beads, and various tube end forming operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate tube bending equipment to produce aerospace-grade tubing to engineering drawings and travelers.
- Perform complex multi-bend parts including accurate rotation, bend order development, and springback compensation.
- Install, align, and adjust tooling (dies, mandrels, wipers, clamps, pressure dies) to control ovality, wall thinning, and surface quality.
- Perform tube end forming as required: flares, beading, expanding, and other print-defined end features.
- Interpret bend data tables, centerline radius (CLR), tangent locations, and orientation/rotation callouts.
- Verify parts using appropriate inspection methods and tools (radius gauges, angle checks, height gauge setups, calipers/mics, templates/fixtures, etc.).
- Support first-article and in-process inspection activities; document setup notes for repeatability.
- Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Welding/Braze, and Assembly to resolve fit-up and formability issues.
- Maintain organized work area; perform basic preventive maintenance and care of machines and tooling.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on tube bending experience (aerospace preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to hold tight tolerances on complex parts with multiple planes and rotations.
- Strong print reading skills including bend callouts and basic GD&T understanding.
- Experience with tube end forming, including flares (and related end features such as bead/swage/expand).
- Comfort working to controlled documentation (travelers, inspection records, traceability requirements).
- Able to use standard measurement tools and follow in-process verification practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CNC tube benders and/or programming (as applicable).
- Experience with thin-wall tubing and aerospace alloys.
- Experience building bend development, cut-length determination, and repeatable setup documentation.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Manufacturing shop environment with standing, bending, and handling of tubing and tooling.
- Ability to lift and move tooling/stock as needed (reasonable accommodation available where applicable).
- Commitment to safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
How to Apply
Please provide a resume and a short summary of your tube bending experience, including tube sizes/materials, bend complexity (multi-plane/rotations), and end forming experience (flares, etc.).
