Position Overview
The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for depositing and application of payments to customer accounts. The A/R Clerk is also responsible to process credit adjustments and to research and correct discrepancies.
Essential Job Duties (include the following. Other duties may be assigned.)
- Open mail, prepare and process checks via remote deposit on a daily basis.
- Application of check deposits to customer accounts promptly and accurately.
- Download electronic payment information and apply to customer accounts.
- Process credit card transactions for customer payments.
- Application of received on account payments made at branches.
- Maintain received on account Credit Card Payment report.
- Process adjustments to customer accounts as directed by branches.
- Work with Accounts Payable department to ensure that any credit invoices are applied to customer accounts properly.
- Maintain internal truck billing and expense weekly.
- Apply payroll deductions to employee receivables promptly and accurately.
- Assists in other credit and collection duties.
- Make recommendations to improve processes in the Accounts Receivable department.

Requirements
- Education and/or experience: Associates Degree or prior Accounts Receivable experience.
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
- Computer skills: Experience with Microsoft Office products including Excel and Word. Experience with Internet applications.
- Reasoning ability: Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will sit for extended periods of time at a desk using a computer, use of hands. The employee must occasionally stoop and lift up to 50 pounds. Required to talk and hear, vision abilities.
Work environment: while performing the duties of this job, the employee is within a controlled office environment that is maintained with an A/C and heating system that can be adjusted as needed due to the weather. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
