Join OAKBERRY CA as a Store Lead, where you'll play a key leadership role in ensuring operational excellence, team development, and an exceptional customer experience. As the most senior in-store role, you'll support day-to-day operations while guiding and empowering a team of Team Members.

This position reports directly to the District Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Member Duties (Shared):

  • Prepare and serve açaí bowls and smoothies in accordance with OAKBERRY CA's quality and presentation standards.
  • Greet customers warmly and create a welcoming, friendly environment.
  • Educate customers on our menu items and the health benefits of our offerings.
  • Handle point-of-sale transactions and operate the card register accurately.
  • Assist with inventory management, including receiving and checking vendor orders.
  • Ensure store systems (lighting, music, electronics) are aligned with brand standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, following food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Complete opening and closing duties as assigned.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment and surfaces throughout the shift.
  • Stay up to date on ingredients to support customers with dietary preferences or restrictions.

Leadership Duties:

  • Set the tone for high performance, professionalism, and brand representation.
  • Supervise 4–5 Team Members, supporting day-to-day performance and team culture.
  • Oversee inventory management, purchasing, and monthly reporting.
  • Handle scheduling, shift coverage, and team communications via tools like 7Shifts.
  • Train and onboard new hires, ensuring consistency in service and operations.
  • Manage product purchasing through MarketMan and oversee vendor coordination.
  • Use Square, MarketMan, 7Shifts, and other platforms for store efficiency.
  • Act as the first point of contact for internal issues, call-offs, and operational needs.
  • Coordinate in-store and corporate events as needed.
  • Immediately report any structural or technical issues to the District Manager.

QUALIFICATION

  • 1+ year of experience in a leadership role within food or retail (preferred).
  • Strong customer service and team management skills.
  • Proficient in tools such as 7Shifts, Square, and MarketMan (or willing to learn).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Excellent time management and multitasking ability.
  • Experience with scheduling, inventory, and purchasing is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to train and inspire others.
  • Passion for health, wellness, and a positive work environment.
  • Must be comfortable standing for extended periods and handling physical tasks.
  • Valid California Food Handler Certificate (or willingness to obtain one prior to first shift).

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS

Job Type: Full-Time (Up to 40 hours/week)

Hourly Rate: $20.00–$22.00 per hour (inclusive of estimated tips, based on experience and skills)

Schedule Hours: The Store Lead works a 6-hour daily shift on the floor, with additional hours as needed for admin duties. Must be available for:

  • Morning Shift: 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Midday Shift: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM
  • Closing Shift: 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Weekend and holiday availability is required.
