In this role, you will diagnose, maintain, and repair a wide range of heavy-duty equipment. You will work closely with our operations and maintenance teams to ensure our equipment is safe, reliable, and ready for the field.
Key Responsibilities
Perform welding operations using various processes on heavy-duty equipment
Read and interpret specifications, drawings, blueprints, welding symbols, and work orders
Assemble and weld raw materials and fabricated components using MIG and other welding processes
Adjust voltage and amperage settings as required
Operate hand tools, powered tools, plasma cutting torch, and welding equipment
Position and clamp parts in fixtures and operate overhead bridge cranes / jib cranes
Chip, clean, grind, and finish welds to required standards
Use smoke extractors and anti-splatter products as required
Report repair issues, equipment delays, and maintenance concerns to the Supervisor
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Adhere strictly to all HSEC policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- Journeyperson Welder certification, red seal is an asset.
- Experience working with mining or heavy equipment repairs and customizations.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and driver’s abstract.
- Ability to pass a Drug/Alcohol Screen & Fit for Duty test.
- Ability to work with limited supervision or as part of a team.
- Knowledge of the mining industry considered an asset
