About this position

Description:

Alium Health is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our growing integrated health clinic. This role supports both clinical and administrative operations, with a strong focus on patient care, coordination of benefits, prior authorizations, and administration of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatments under provider direction.

This is a Full-Time, on-site position, Monday through Friday during standard clinic hours at our Scottsdale clinic.

Clinical Patient Care

  • Assist providers with patient care in a behavioral health outpatient setting.
  • Administer TMS treatments according to established protocols, including accurate calculations and precise data entry into the EMR (NextGen).
  • Prepare patients for treatments, explain treatments as directed by providers, and monitor patient comfort and safety.
  • Record vital signs and document clinical information accurately in patient charts.

Administrative & Front Office Support

  • Verify insurance benefits and eligibility, including behavioral health coverage.
  • Obtain prior authorizations and referrals for medical services and treatments.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR system.
  • Assist with scheduling, patient check-in/check-out, and coordination of care as needed.

Patient Education & Support

  • Provide basic health education to patients and families as guided by medical providers.
  • Serve as a point of contact for patient questions related to treatments, scheduling, and insurance coordination.

Compliance, Safety & Infection Control

  • Follow OSHA, AZDHS, and clinic policies related to infection control, safety, and patient privacy (HIPAA).
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal healthcare regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment.

Team Collaboration

  • Participate in staff meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with providers, clinical staff, and administrative team members.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, respectful, and patient-centered work environment.

Requirements:

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred.

Experience

Minimum of one (1) year of experience providing patient care in a clinical or medical office setting.

Certification & Licensing

Medical Assistant (MA) certification preferred.

CPR certification required.

Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

Skills & Abilities

Proficiency with EMR systems (NextGen preferred) and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel).

Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Compassionate, professional, and patient-focused demeanor.

Other Requirements

Valid Driver’s License and proof of vehicle insurance.
