Registered Nurse
Under the guidance and supervision of the nurse, the supervisor shares the responsibility for total patient needs. As a member of the nursing team, he/she performs a variety of technical and skilled patient care duties, many of which were acquired through nursing education and supervised on-the-job training and experiences. The Registered Nurse shares the responsibility of providing a safe and comfortable environment conducive to healing while delivering quality care. Assist a physician and/or nurse practitioner as needed to provide all care.
SUPERVISION
A. SUPERVISED BY: Director ICU/SCU/Peds
B. SUPERVISES: Licensed and un-licensed staff
C. LEADS/GUIDES: May function as Relief Charge Nurse
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
A. EDUCATION:
-Required:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
12 hrs. continuing education per year
Successful completion of Basic Dysrhythmia Interpretation Course or successful completion of the validation
exam within one year of employment
Successful completion of the Basic Critical Care Course or successful completion of the validation exams when
assigned by the Department Leader during the first two years of employment.

-Desired: Minimum of one year Med/Surg experience
C. LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
-Required: Current license as an RN in the State of Georgia, BLS, ACLS (within 6 months of employment);
CPI Training class within 6 months of employment.
