Salary: $13/hr plus gratuity 


Overview
The Banquet Captain plays a key leadership role in delivering exceptional dining and event experiences for members and guests at Park Country Club. This position oversees banquet staff, ensures flawless event execution, is the main point of contact for clients hosting events. This role will be overseen by our Banquet Manager and ultimately our Food and Beverage Director. The ideal candidate for this role will possess all the qualifications listed below and be someone who wants to grow into a F&B management position at the Club.  


Key Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and motivate banquet servers, bartenders, and support staff
• Oversee setup and breakdown of all banquet spaces according to event specifications
• Coordinate closely with the Banquet Manager, F&B Director, Chefs, and Catering Director
• Conduct pre-event meetings to review timelines, service expectations, and assignments
• Ensure timely, polished, and attentive food and beverage service throughout events
• Serve as the primary point of contact for event hosts during functions
• Monitor staff performance and provide on-the-spot coaching to maintain service standards
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in all service areas
• Manage inventory levels of banquet supplies and report needs proactively
• Handle guest concerns with professionalism, discretion, and swift problem-solving
• Assist with scheduling, timesheets, and post-event evaluations as needed
• Ensure compliance with all club policies, New York State health and safety regulations, and service protocols

Requirements:

 Qualifications

• Previous experience in banquet or fine-dining service leadership (private club experience preferred)
• Strong supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team
• Excellent communication and guest-service abilities
• High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail
• Ability to anticipate needs and resolve issues quickly and tactfully
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
• Knowledge of banquet event orders (BEO) is preferred. Experience with Jonas POS is a plus
