Summary of the position: This part-time contracted position provides lifeguarding services at the indoor and outdoor pool.

Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities	Description of Duty
Inspection	Inspect pool area and chemical levels before each swimming session to ensure safe conditions.
Cleaning	Keep pool area clean before, during and after each swim session. Wash all used swim trunks and towels at the end of each shift.
Safety	Explain pool rules to every youth prior to the swimming activity and enforce rules during the swimming activity. Maintain visual contact with each youth in the water at all times. Perform rescue(s) as needed.
Documentation	Write reports of any incidents that may occur during scheduled activities and notify the infirmary if a youth is pulled out of the water.

Working Conditions
Lifting Requirements	Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds.
Physical Requirements	Must be physically able to complete lifeguard duties.
Work Location: This position works at both the indoor and outdoor pool.

REQUIREMENTS
Education	High school diploma or GED
Licensure	Must have Red Cross Certification in Lifeguarding/Water Safety and must be able to keep certification up-to-date.

Other	Must be 21 years of age or older.
