JOB DESCRIPTION

The Miriam Learning Center, a program of Miriam School and Learning Center, helps students ages 2
through 18 who learn differently and require academic and/or social/emotional support to fully realize
their potential.

POSITION: TESTING AND REFERRAL SPECIALIST I

STATUS: PART TIME

REPORTS TO: TESTING SUPERVISOR

WORKDAYS AND HOURS: 3 DAYS PER WEEK, 25 HOURS PER WEEK

? Bachelor's degree preferred or Associate's degree with two years of administrative experience
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills
? Excellent organizational skills with good attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-
paced work environment
? Proficient with basic computer programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Drive
? Ability to quickly learn new cloud-based programs
? Desire to help students who learn differently, assist their families, and learn about
neurodivergent learners

POSITION SUMMARY:
The MLC Testing and Referral Specialist organizes and coordinates all testing and evaluations completed
through the Learning Center and provides referral information to all MLC inquiries. This position also
provides administrative support for summer camp.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Communicates Learning Center services during phone inquiries.
2. Coordinates follow-up for inquiries with appropriate supervisors.
3. Responds to testing inquiries and helps families determine what type of testing is needed.
4. Coordinates referrals with clinical staff.
5. Sends out initial testing screening documents to families.
6. Assigns clients in Theranest for clinical staff.
7. Uploads documents into Theranest.
8. Provides Theranest training to clinical staff when needed.
9. Schedules testing dates and times.
10. Coordinates testing with parents, schools, and testers.
11. Schedules rooms for testing.
12. Orders tests and test protocols.
13. Completes purchase orders.
14. Obtains testing paperwork.
15. Formats and copies completed testing reports.
16. Enters testing scores on the computer.17. Obtains financial aid paperwork from applicants and new student paperwork.
18. Provides support to testers.
19. Follows up with all testing families after testing to ensure families have access to resources.
20. Answers telephones.
21. Assists with administrative tasks to get summer camp ready.
22. Sends out summer camp progress reports to parents after each camp session.
23. Fills in for evening administrative coverage 4:30-8:00pm during absences.
24. Performs other duties as assigned.
