What you can expect as a Director of Product: 

  • Develop comprehensive coverage strategies that align with product initiatives and assist with driving growth, achieving targeted underwriting profit.
  • Act as a coverage and policy forms expert and maintain a thorough knowledge of company product features and benefits as well as industry product trends. Provide coverage expertise to various internal areas, including underwriting, sales and marketing, claims, legal and finance.
  • Maintain current knowledge of competitor actions, industry developments and member needs and drive coverage innovation to meet the needs of Frontline Program’s target market.
  • Identify product portfolio level KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) coaching team to adjust and refine products as the data dictates.
  • Continuously assess performance of products within the portfolio and identify any areas where cost of product is higher than value generated with recommendations on next steps.
  • Work with various departments and senior leadership to ensure successful product launch or decommissioning of products.
  • Reporting on the performance of your respective products to the executive leadership team, and others in the organization
  • Develop new product lines as identified by senior leadership. These can include both personal and commercial lines.
  • Work with compliance to ensure that products comply with applicable state and/or federal regulations.
  • Develop and lead a team of product development analyst(s), ensuring the team has the necessary technical acumen for all lines of business
  • Identify additional product opportunities to present to senior leadership
  • Oversee duties of the team and other duties relevant to product as they arise

What we are looking for as a Director of Product: 

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Advanced degree – MSc., PhD - Preferred, or MBA is a plus.
  • Insurance designation such as CPCU or CIC are preferred.
  • Knowledge of forms performance in matters of litigation is preferred.
  • 8+ years in strategic and/or analytical insurance roles, including, but not limited to, actuarial, product / line management, or underwriting.
  • Experience working with seasoned insurance experts, including state regulators.
  • 3+ years managing a P&L for another insurance company.
  • 5+ years managing a team of direct reports.
  • Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to comprehend, interpret and draft complex policy language.
  • Well versed in the Florida insurance regulatory process and environment.
