About this position

Job Description: 

The Foundry Manager work study student will be responsible for maintaining the wax room, inventory supplies, cleaning, organizing wax and molds, tracking consumables, ceramic shell/slurry, setting up and maintaining a schedule for metal pours and slurry dipping. Optimize the wax room space with an organized workflow between students and faculty. Oversee outdoor Foundry: prep space before and after each metal pour. Maintain crucibles. Design, fabricate, and maintain foundry tools. Maintain leather protective gear, visors, and helmets. Track costs of consumables and share data with the department chair. Ensure return of metal cups and vents. Establish standard industry practice with weights and measures. Document costs incurred by courses, students (record names/dates),   and report to the department Chair and relevant faculty and staff.

 

Reports to Mike Wickerson and the relevant faculty and staff

Salary Information

$13.75 Hourly Wage
