Delivery Driver/Warehouse Associate

Position Summary

The Delivery Driver/Warehouse loads and unloads Ashley Furniture trucks over an established route to deliver merchandise to customers. They perform warehouse work related to receipt, shipment, storage, distribution or delivery of products; loads, unloads, moves or stores items according to delivery instructions. Assists with cleaning, organization and light maintenance of the facility; customer pick-ups and any other tasks that may be assigned by managers. They report to the Warehouse Distribution Manager. 

Responsibilities

• Load delivery truck and leave the dock within 1 hour and 15 minutes every morning
• Physically check items for damage against load sheets to verify all items are correct and loaded
• Contact customers when enroute to location and/or at prearranged call ahead of time
• Contact warehouse at arrival and departure of customer’s home and at start and end of lunch
• Obtain customers' signatures on delivery and pick-up receipts and turn in all paperwork 
• Report any delivery issues and record information on customer signed delivery receipt
• Complete truck inspection and drivers log each day
• Keep interior of delivery truck clean
• Remove trash from deliveries to recycling daily
• Assist with opening, assembly and inspection of merchandise in preparation for next day’s deliveries
• Load trucks for next day deliveries
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and processes as established by Warehouse Manager
• Observe safety and security procedures
• Pick merchandise using scanners and transfer to staging area
• Open, assemble, and inspect merchandise
• Perform basic repairs while inspecting merchandise
• Assist customers with pick ups
• Assist in verification and assessment of returns; repackage and transfer to correct area • Keep warehouse clean and organized
• Assist with in home deliveries when needed
• Facilities maintenance as necessary

•  Fluency in written and spoken English
• High school diploma or GED
• Must possess valid drivers license
• Be able to obtain IDOT medical certificate 
• Moving Violation Record 
• May be required to lift 150+ pounds with assistance
• Ability to work a variable schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays, per the needs of the business
