About this position
The Tool Room Supervisor reports to the R & D Manager and is responsible for overseeing the tool room operations, ensuring the efficient and effective management of tooling inventory, maintenance, and repair activities.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Follow Current Tool shop procedure / system for IATF requirement.
- Die assembly / disassembly planning on daily basis.
- Check die availability & readiness on daily basis.
- Send die to vendor for repair & communicate changes.
- Keep track & document all changes for repairing dies.
- Modifying tool as required for production.
- Keep Tool life tracking sheet updated.
- Adopt new CMMS system for tool order.
- Training of Tool shop Manpower.
- Tool spare part management.
- SAP knowledge
- Die steel machining knowledge.
- Knowledge of 3D GOM /FARO scanning
- 5S knowledge of Tool shop.
- Availability for weekends if required for production
- Kaizens for tool repetitive issues.
- Monitor downtime due to tooling & implement corrective actions.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining various types of tooling and machining equipment.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling design, and materials.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and CNC programming is a plus.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve tooling issues efficiently.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work in noisy environments.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, squat, and climb to access all parts of the machine.
- Work is typically performed in a manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to heat, noise, and other hazards associated with forging operations.
