About this position

The Tool Room Supervisor reports to the R & D Manager and is responsible for overseeing the tool room operations, ensuring the efficient and effective management of tooling inventory, maintenance, and repair activities.


Duties/Responsibilities

  • Follow Current Tool shop procedure / system for IATF requirement.
  • Die assembly / disassembly planning on daily basis.
  • Check die availability & readiness on daily basis.
  • Send die to vendor for repair & communicate changes.
  • Keep track & document all changes for repairing dies.
  • Modifying tool as required for production.
  • Keep Tool life tracking sheet updated.
  • Adopt new CMMS system for tool order.
  • Training of Tool shop Manpower.
  • Tool spare part management.
  • SAP knowledge
  • Die steel machining knowledge.
  • Knowledge of 3D GOM /FARO scanning
  • 5S knowledge of Tool shop.
  • Availability for weekends if required for production
  • Kaizens for tool repetitive issues.
  • Monitor downtime due to tooling & implement corrective actions.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining various types of tooling and machining equipment.
  • Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling design, and materials.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and CNC programming is a plus.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve tooling issues efficiently.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in noisy environments.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, squat, and climb to access all parts of the machine.
  • Work is typically performed in a manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to heat, noise, and other hazards associated with forging operations.
