Job Title: Maintenance Technician Apprentice Job Summary The Maintenance Technician Apprentice assists in the repair and maintenance of tools and machines used in production, this includes troubleshooting problems and maintaining records of maintenance and repairs, while completing a structured apprenticeship program. Under the supervision of experienced maintenance technicians, the apprentice gains hands-on experience and classroom training to develop the skills required to become a certified Maintenance Technician. Apprentices will start on first shirt for 1-2 years and will then transfer to night shift for a 6.5 year commitment. Key Responsibilities Assist in troubleshooting, diagnose, and repair mechanical presses, CNC mills and overhead cranes issuesDisassemble, reassemble and test complex machines under supervisionGain Electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic experienceLearn to read and interpret PLC logicEnsuring compliance with OSHA and other regulationsFollow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.Record training hours and tasks completed as part of apprenticeship documentation.Attend and successfully complete all required technical instruction and evaluations.Communicate effectively with mentors and ask questions to support skill development.Other duties as assigned Required Skills and Experience High school diploma or GED requiredEnrollment in or willingness to enter a state-certified Apprenticeship Program.Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in hydraulics, pneumatics, machine alignment, and electrical troubleshootingAbility to follow directions, work safely, and demonstrate attention to detail.Good attendance, work ethic, and willingness to learn from experienced tradespeople.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Physical DemandsAbility to stand, walk, climb, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.Must work in varied environments including under/inside machinery and at heights.May be required to work overtime or respond to emergency repairs during off-hours.Use of PPE (safety glasses, steel-toe boots, gloves, hearing protection) required.
