Elmhurst CDJR is looking to hire an Automotive Technician / Mechanic to join our service team at our location in Elmhurst, IL!

This technician position requires previous automotive technician experience and is NOT an entry-level opportunity. The ideal candidate will have years of experience in the field, specialty industry certification or training, and the ability to be a leader and resource for other technicians on staff.

Requirements:

 

Automotive Technician / Mechanic Qualifications:

  • Previous proven automotive technician / mechanic experience required
     
  • ASE Certification or other automotive certifications is a plus
     
  • Previous leadership or mentoring experience within the automotive space
     
  • Attention to detail and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
     
  • Professional demeanor and effective communication skills with customers
     
  • Valid Driver’s License
     

Automotive Technician / Mechanic Responsibilities:

  • Visually inspect and document condition of vehicle based on customers’ requests or concerns
     
  • Conduct initial diagnostic testing to identify specific issues impacting vehicles
     
  • Perform more complex maintenance services on vehicles including (but not limited to) engine replacement, electrical work, transmission repair and more
     
  • Document all services and repairs performed to provide to service advisors and/or customers
     
  • Identify any additional recommendations for services and communicate with management
     
  • Communicate with other service staff and/or customers if additional services are required and ensure information is documented and outlined
     
  • Assist other service technicians or staff with questions to ensure accuracy and efficiency
     
  • Answer high-level questions posed by customers and service staff
     
  • Maintain a clean and safe service department

Salary Information

$44.65 - $47.70 Hourly Wage
