Data Analyst (Legal Industry, On-Site)
Overview
We’re seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented Data Analyst with a builder mindset to support our professional services team with accurate, timely, and actionable insights and reporting. This is a full-time, in-office role that involves close collaboration with attorneys, paralegals, and operations staff. You’ll work with sensitive legal data, develop new reporting capabilities, and help shape the foundation of our analytics function.
Key Responsibilities
· Process co-counsel and referral opportunities created by our legal professionals, intake department, and marketing team
· Analyze case-related data, matter trends
· Assist with billing functions and documentation retention
· Update dashboards and reports to support the Co-Counsel team
· Integrate, clean, and validate data from disparate sources including case management systems, billing platforms, document repositories, and external datasets
· Design and improve data workflows, processes, and documentation with a builder mindset — proactively creating solutions where none exist
· Identify inefficiencies and recommend data-driven improvements across legal operations
· Present findings in a clear, concise way to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Computer Science, or a related field
· Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups, conditional logic, and data visualization preferred
· Experience working with multiple, disparate data sources and integrating them into cohesive datasets
· Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
· Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
· A builder mindset — comfortable creating new processes, tools, and reporting structures from the ground up
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented legal or compliance environment
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience in the legal industry (law firm, corporate legal department, compliance, or e-discovery)
· Understanding of billing data, matter lifecycle metrics, or legal operations analytics
· Knowledge of data governance, privacy, or regulatory requirements
Work Environment
· This is a full-time, in-office position
· New industry and function in the legal space
· High collaboration with attorneys, paralegals, marketing, intake and operations teams
