BCI Construction, Inc. is seeking an additional experienced General Superintendent to join our growing team and work in the Central Minnesota area. Headquartered out of Sauk Rapids, MN. BCI specializes in Commercial, Medical, and Institutional Construction.

- Managing and developing field leaders, such as Superintendents, Foreman, and potential site leaders by BCI Core Values.
- Develop BCI’s self-perform team consisting of Foreman, Carpenters, Demolition teams, & Future specialties through supervision, training, coaching, and mentoring.
- Actively communicate with BCI’s leadership team in varying settings.
- Work in tandem with additional General Superintendent(s).
- Drive a safe site environment across all job sites by developing, implementing, and monitoring the Safety Program for BCI.
- Coordinate and schedule labor assignments weekly according to Project Schedules via Field Leaders and Project Managers.
- Anticipate changes in conditions and operations to the greatest extent possible, reacting timely and appropriately.
- Foster a high-level of job satisfaction for field personnel, demonstrated through overall morale, productivity, cooperation, and teamwork.
- Implement and manage project quality standards on every project to uphold high customer service standards throughout the field team.
- Track and enforce standards of production for all self-performed work for quality and efficiency.
- Frequent and consistent communication across the organization regarding opportunities or issues in the areas of production, technology, budgets, etc.
- Actively communicate, document, & track Field Leaders on progress, performance, and quality of all subcontractor’s work. Reinforcing work of our subcontractors is a direct reflection of the craftsmanship and reputation of BCI.
- Coordinate with clients and key stakeholders to ensure satisfaction with work completed. Assist with handling complaints to the client’s satisfaction, while not jeopardizing project profitability.
- Manage your team to be responsible for project completion on time, with minimal punch-list.
- Attend pre-construction and close-out meetings to ensure all necessary project documentation is distributed and returned properly.
- Preconstruction includes scope of work, project schedule, plans, identifying team members, budgeted hours and coding, safety information, safety requirements, and any other relevant information to support the project team.
- Close-out includes project contacts, contracts, cost coding, project documentation, logistics, plans, hourly studies, sub-contractor performance, etc.
- Positively follow and promote all BCI guidelines, policies, procedures, and goals.
- Understand plans, specifications, and subcontractor agreements.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, health and safety laws and ordinances including but not limited to ASHE, OSHA, MDH, and the DOT.
- Co-Host monthly safety & production meetings, typically the second Tuesday of each month (virtually & in-person).
- Collaborate with Human Resources on department needs and tasks, such as, recruiting, hiring, training, employee reviews, wages, disciplinary/reward systems for individual field personnel.

Education, Training and other Requirements
- Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years of building and Construction Management experience
- 5+ years of experience with Commercial Construction
- Efficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Project trained or equivalent knowledge.
- Valid driver’s license
- Preferred:
- Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Administration, or Similar experience
- OSHA30, SWWPP Certified
- Healthcare construction experience
- 5 years of leadership experience in a role as Superintendent, Foreman, or other comparable leadership role in the construction industry
- Procore Experience
- Health card for commercial vehicle needs.
Physical Demands
This role will be exposed to field conditions and office environments. Construction sites are relatively unique situations regarding typical work conditions. Workers are exposed to cold weather conditions, hot weather conditions, non-level ground, moving mechanical equipment or other workers, high spaces, low spaces, fumes, airborne particles, exposure to shock, etc. Strict policies and in place for these differing conditions, but employees must adhere to safety policies to protect them against negative impacts of such exposures.
Office environments, due to the nature of the industry, can cause unique periods and schedules, sitting for long periods of time, and often loud, team driven atmospheres.
Frequently:
- Communicating with others to exchange information
- Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment
- Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned
- Lifting and moving objects up to 20 pounds
- Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like
- Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
- Lifting and moving objects up to 100 pounds
- Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
- Operating machinery or power tools
- Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing
