Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Senior Accountant supports Finance & Accounting operations by ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, contract cost review, accounts receivable/payable management, financial reporting, and compliance with federal contracting regulations. This role supports government contracts and contributes to financial statement preparation, analysis, and internal controls.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Prepare invoices for Government/Public Sector clients (Cost Reimbursable, T&M, Firm Fixed Price, and related variations).
- Ensure invoices comply with contract terms and client specifications.
- Maintain complete and accurate billing files and documentation.
- Review and interpret contract billing requirements.
- Resolve complex invoicing issues, including rate adjustments and system discrepancies.
- Set up new charge codes and project structures for awarded contracts.
- Maintain billing information sheets for assigned contracts.
- Manage weekly AR/AP activities, including aging analysis and subcontractor invoice review.
- Distribute monthly AR and contract-required reports to Project Managers and Director of Contracts.
- Prepare Unfunded/Unbilled reports and provide updates on aged receivables to Finance leadership.
- Process expense reports and reimbursements.
- Prepare and analyze financial and accounting reports.
- Perform weekly review of Trial Balance and General Ledger.
- Conduct annual reconciliations (related parties, receivables, contract assets, PPE, payables, sales, cost of sales).
- Review contract-level financial performance.
- Assist with preparation of statutory financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow, Equity).
- Develop metrics to support corporate financial guidance.
- Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, CAS, GAAP, and other federal procurement regulations.
- Support internal and external audit activities, including DCAA-related matters.
- Research and resolve billing and compliance issues using sound judgment and analysis.
- Partner with Project and Operations Managers regarding invoicing and AR matters.
- Conduct training for new employees as assigned.
- Perform general bookkeeping and other duties as needed.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
- 3–5 years of government contracting accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, CAS, GAAP, and government procurement regulations.
- Experience with various contract types and government solicitations (RFP, RFQ, RFI, ROM).
- Understanding of Service Contract Act (SCA) and Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs).
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Broad knowledge of accounting processes (GL, AR, AP, payroll, reconciliations).
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
- DCAA experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged computer and desk work.
- Occasional time in manufacturing or alternate facilities.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
- Occasional CONUS travel.
The pay range for this role is:
80,000 - 110,000 USD per year(Albers Aero HQ-Albers Headquarters)
