SUMMARY OF POSITION ROLE/RESPONSIBILITIES:


The Wellness and Human Resources Specialist will report to the Vice President of HR and Safety and provides comprehensive administrative support to the Human Resources department, with a focus on core HR functions, electronic file management, benefits administration, and the development and management of wellness programs. This role is instrumental in fostering employee well-being through innovative wellness initiatives and effective HR support.  


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB AND THE PERCENTAGE OF TIME SPENT ON EACH FUNCTION

40% - Wellness Program Development:

  • Design, implement, and manage a comprehensive wellness program focused on mental and physical well-being.
  • Develop and distribute engaging wellness newsletters with tips, challenges, and resources.
  • Organize wellness events, workshops, and activities to promote a healthy workplace culture.

20% - Care Coordination:

  • Work with providers on best routs of care for employees.
  • Short-Term and Long-Term Claims Processing

15% - HR Administrative Support:

  • Assist in day-to-day HR operations, including onboarding, offboarding, and maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and manage correspondence, reports, and documentation related to HR functions.
  • Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR policies and procedures.

10% - Benefits Administration:

  • Coordinate benefits enrollment and changes, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Serve as a liaison between employees and benefits providers to resolve issues and answer questions.
  • Maintain knowledge of current benefits programs and recommend improvements.

5% - Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and submit required reports related to HR activities and wellness program metrics.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB AND THE PERCENTAGE OF TIME SPENT ON EACH FUNCTION

  • 10% - Other duties, as assigned.

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE

Specify days and hours this position is required to work as well as any variations from this schedule (ex: on call, shift rotations, seasonal extended hours, travel, etc.)

  • Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Requirements:

 

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2-3 years of administrative experience in an HR setting.
  • Experience with benefits administration and wellness program development preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and best practices.
  • Creativity and passion for employee wellness initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SHRM-CP or PHR
  • Bi-lingual (English and Spanish)




Salary Information

$50000.00 - $60000.00 Annual Salary
