Lead - Retail Operations

The Lead - Retail Operations is responsible for driving operational excellence across all store teams to deliver an exceptional Atlas Experience. This role leads the retail operations team to uphold high merchandising standards, optimize inventory management, and ensure seamless execution of in-store events and promotions. The lead acts as the primary point of contact for store operations, mentoring team members, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives. This position requires a leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, embraces challenges, and is passionate about developing people and processes to achieve continuous improvement.


Key Duties & Responsibilities


Retail Operations.

  • Working with the retail operations team, ensure that receiving and shipping to the Distribution Centre is completed in a timely manner.

  • Support the Retail store team with merchandising and other day-to-day activities. Assist with purchase orders and product transfer order management, ensuring accurate and timely processing.

  • As a member of the leadership team, support and direct the duties of the retail operations team, ensuring alignment with visual directions.


Merchandising and Inventory Management.

  • Oversee daily replenishment processes and ensure the timely flow of stock to the sales floor.

  • Conduct and oversee regular cycle counts, inventory investigations, and corrective actions.

  • Ensure full compliance with section perfection playbook standards and lead store walks to proactively identify and resolve issues.

  • Guide to create interactive, customer-engaging displays and ensure proper maintenance of visual merchandising standards.



Operational Excellence


  • Collaborate with different teams (Purchasing, Marketing, Inventory, Customer Experience) to deliver flawless execution of store operations in collaboration with the store management team.

  • Share ideas for process improvements and implement operational best practices to enhance efficiencies and effectiveness.

  • Lead the response to operational challenges and serve as the point of contact for the retail operations team.



Customer Experience & Sales Support


  • Support the sales team by ensuring merchandising and stock levels meet customer demands and create a seamless shopping experience.

  • Lead by example on the sales floor, engaging with customers to deliver a personalized shopping experience.


Qualifications and Skills.


  • Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience. (Prefer candidates with supply chain management degree or certificate)

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in retail operations or merchandising lead position.

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.

  • Ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced retail environment.

  • Proficiency with ERP system, inventory software.

  • Physically able to stand for up to 9 hours, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks.

  • Flexible availability, including weekends and extended hours during peak periods.
