Full Time, 40 hours a week, Monday - Friday 8:30am-5pm, may include nights and weekends

Benefited Position after 60 day waiting period for FT and PT positions

Job Summary: 

  •  Provide residents with physical and mental activities daily. 
  • Should possess zest for life, be energetic and creative, have an understanding of cliental needs, and have a flexible schedule as it will require working some nights and weekends. 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
  • Plan resident programs in athletics, music, art, movies, library, and other cultural and activity programs.
  • Organizes recreational team activities.
  • Maintains recreational facilities and equipment.
  • Supervises recreational programs and activities along with supervision and direction over subordinates.
  • Provide residents with daily activities suited to their individual needs.
  • Provide a monthly activity calendar to each resident, staff, and family members upon request.
  • Coordinate private parties for residents and their families and or clubs.
  • Provide transportation to community events that interest residents and coordinate purchasing of tickets and making reservations.

  

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess computer, people, organizing and communication skills
  •  Problem solving— May have to adjust daily activity to accommodate residents’ preference or during shortage of staff.
  •  Interpersonal Skills— Must pose an interest in caring for elderly. Must be friendly, courteous and able to work with the elderly in a patient, non-threating way. Have a desire to make it a fun and meaningful environment for the residents.
  • Oral communication— Communicate verbally with residents, staff, taking phone calls, and with the public.
  •  Written Communication— Must be able to read and write English. Ability to process and record verbal communication via telephone electronically (email).
  • Planning/organizing— Will be organizing monthly activity calendar, transports, plan parties, etc.
  • Quality control—Adaptability— Helps keep clean and safe environment.
  • Dependability— Reports to work on time and as scheduled. Must be flexible with schedule to allow a variety of activities.
