The Project Office Manager supports the Director of Engineering by overseeing project coordination, operational organization, scheduling, and cross-functional communication across engineering and field operations. This role serves as a central hub for project execution activities, ensuring engineering initiatives progress efficiently, subcontractor engagement remains cost-controlled, and internal stakeholders remain aligned throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in managing multiple concurrent technical projects within renewable energy, construction, engineering, or utility environments.
Essential Duties:
Project Coordination & Organization
• Support the Director of Engineering in planning, organizing, and tracking engineering and operational projects.
• Maintain project timelines, milestones, and deliverables across multiple initiatives.
• Develop and manage project documentation, trackers, and reporting dashboards.
• Ensure project workflows align with company operational standards and deadlines.
Scheduling & Resource Management
• Coordinate project schedules across engineering, operations, procurement, and field teams.
• Monitor resource allocation and assist in prioritization of engineering workloads.
• Identify scheduling conflicts and proactively recommend solutions.
Subcontractor Coordination & Cost Oversight
• Track subcontractor scopes of work, timelines, and deliverables.
• Assist with subcontractor cost tracking, budgeting support, and invoice coordination.
• Partner with Finance and Procurement to ensure cost accuracy and budget alignment.
• Support vendor onboarding and documentation compliance.
Cross Department Communication
• Serve as a liaison between Engineering, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, and Field Services teams.
• Facilitate project status meetings and distribute action items and updates.
• Ensure timely communication of risks, delays, and project changes to stakeholders.
Project Reporting & Process Improvement
• Prepare recurring project status reports for leadership.
• Track KPIs related to project timelines, budgets, and execution efficiency.
• Recommend process improvements to enhance engineering project workflows and coordination.
• Support implementation of project management tools and best practices.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, Project Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3–7 years of project coordination, PMO, or project operations experience.
• Experience supporting engineering, construction, renewable energy, or technical service organizations preferred.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in fast-paced environments.
• Proficiency with project management tools (Smartsheet, MS Project, Asana, Monday, or similar).
• Advanced Excel and reporting skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in solar, renewable energy, utilities, or infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with subcontractor management and cost tracking.
• PMP, CAPM, or project management certification (preferred but not required).
• Experience working within cross-functional technical teams.

Salary Range: $85,000-$100,000 per year
