POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Project Accountant at Elmington Construction, you will be responsible for an extensive scope of accounting and administrative functions. The Project Accountant can expect to assist the accounting department with tracking of subcontractor lien waivers, review of payment application, assisting in banking functions, administrative duties, and be willing to contribute to special projects.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Substantiates project financials by auditing documents
  • Review monthly subcontractor payment application for compliances
  • Reviews monthly owner payment applications for accuracy and completeness
  • Collect, log and track subcontractor and lower tier waivers
  • Report weekly to Controller on monthly progress of compliance collection
  • Process bank deposits
  • Enter invoices in accounting software
  • Assist with accounts payable functions to ensure timely payment to subcontractors and suppliers
  • Reconciles monthly bank statements and has responsibility for cash management for assigned projects
  • Compiles and submits supporting documents for draw packages
  • Resolves administrative problems and inquiries
  • Maintains financial security by following internal controls and promoting ethical environment
  • Documents and conveys information regarding accounts with vendors and management quickly and professionally
  • Performs special projects throughout the year
  • Performs other duties as assigned

SPECIFIC EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE:
  • Construction experience is preferred
  • Experience with Excel, Word, Outlook and Adobe

  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Vision abilities to include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Temperature in the workplace is typically moderate, though the ability to withstand seasonal cold and heat of the outdoors is necessary.
