OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform (hands-on) preventive, predictive, and emergency maintenance on terminal Hydraulic system with mechanical / controls / electrical / hydraulic equipment to maintain the facility at peak operating efficiency on a 24-hour basis, consistent with company and government standards of safety, environmental and quality control.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Spearhead and develop mechanical and hydraulic system maintenance for the site.
  • Mechanical, Controls, and Electrical fault-finding to determine route cause issues to solve and communicate solutions.
  • Develop best practice for existing and new hydraulic system development.
  • Identify and remedy discrepancies in technical documentation.
  • Hands-on approach to the maintenance of the hydraulic system.
  • Read, understand, and interpret P&IDs, hydraulic and electrical schematics, sketches, and written instructions to perform maintenance and safely operate system equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of system testing and inspection/checkout.
  • Work closely with Odfjell personnel, onsite contractors, and offsite contractors to complete PMs, repairs, projects, and ,when required
  • Support spare parts inventory program.
  • Participate in the change management and HAZOP review for system upgrades/modification.
  • Implement and comply with corporate procedures and processes.
  • Cooperate with and support colleagues.  
  • Compliance with company policies, including the Code of Conduct, is mandatory. 

OTHER FUNCTIONS 

  • Recognition of the need for continued learning and continued improvement to produce quality, safe and efficient performance of maintenance personnel.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.          
  • Communication and documentation of job functions / projects to allow for employee’s superior to assume and/or assign this position’s duties to someone else, during times of absence, vacation, or offsite training.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Prefer specialized vocational or technical training
  • Minimum 5+ years of work experience in a similar role of Hydraulics system, compressor/turbine maintenance, or equivalent for mechanical and controls maintenance
  • Experience in understanding hydraulics, mechanical repairs, controls, and electrical functions of a hydraulic system
  • Experience in reliability practices, hydraulic system integrity and predictive/preventative maintenance preferred
  • Ability to read and understand P&IDs, schematics and engineered drawingsPHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

WORKING CONDITIONS

Frequently:  working a 5/8, M-F schedule; irregular hours; on call schedule at least every other weekend; respirator fit; hot/cold temperatures; work outside; electrical hazards; falling hazards/wear safety harness; sharp objects/tools; working at heights; working in confined spaces; exposure to fumes, gases, odors; exposure to dirt, dust, grease. Oil, mud; excessive noise exposure; hot temperature devices (burners, flame torches, etc.)/ performing multiple tasks at the same time; working in difficult interpersonal situations.
