JOB SUMMARY: The Receiver is responsible for the accurate, timely, and safe receipt of raw materials, component parts, and other inbound deliveries. This role ensures materials are properly inspected, documented, stored, and staged to support production schedules while maintaining accuracy and preventing loss or damage.
The Receiver works closely with the Receiving Supervisor, purchasing, inventory control, and production teams to meet internal and external customer requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Receive inbound shipments of raw materials, components, and supplies.
- Verify received items against packing lists, purchase orders, and ERP system records.
- Inspect materials for damage, quantity, and basic compliance with specifications.
- Accurately enter same day packing list and receiving data into the ERP system.
- Label, store, and organize materials in designated locations to support inventory accuracy.
- Perform bin restocking to support storeroom picking accuracy.
- Transport materials to appropriate storage or staging areas to meet production schedules.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklift, pallet jack, or carts.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of receiving and storage areas.
- Report discrepancies, damages, or shortages to the Receiving Supervisor.
- Support cycle counts and inventory audits as required.
- Follow all safety, quality, and company procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities within the receiving and stores areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Basic knowledge of receiving, warehousing, or inventory control processes.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with safety and quality regulations in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Basic computer skills, including ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
- Forklift or other material handling equipment certification (or ability to obtain).
- Must have basic reading and writing skills in the English language.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and interpret basic charts or reports.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in receiving, warehousing, or material handling preferred.
- Manufacturing or industrial environment experience a plus.
Some functions include: prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer; talking on phone; climbing up and down stairs; walking shop floor; standing, stooping, bending, reaching, crawling, and occasionally lifting 50 lbs. or more.
