OCH Technologies is hiring an Adaptation Specialist for a position supporting the FAA from the William J. Hughes Technical Center (WJHTC) in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. The Adaptation Specialist will provide first level helpdesk support expertise on systems administration, system design, system architecture, and operations & maintenance support for large, complex systems. Must have solid technical skills in Linux and Windows environments.

Core Responsibilities & Duties

  • Respond to program-related issues, resolve problems and customer tickets, and prepare technical documentation accurately depicting the problem and/or solution to provide to developer/level 2 support if necessary. 
  • Recommend and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management. 
  • Analyze and identify discrepancies in the system, assess the risks, and suggest solutions while adhering to security standards.
  • Develop and document technical processes and procedures, if needed.
  • Collect and validate 7-day (e.g., OAG schedules, sensitive flight IDs, etc.) and 56-day (standard Chart Cycle Update) adaptation updates for the TFM Production Center (TPC).
  • Support data problem resolution from incoming data sources (e.g., work with data sources to correct anomalies in source files that are collected) or document and correct manually within TFMS.
  • Build and verify adaptation update files (for TPC and TFMS remote sites).
  • Support delivery and integration with Configuration Management.
  • Support validation with the FAA.
  • Support Adaptation deployment to field.
  • Analyze adaptation data over time to offer improvements (e.g., Ground Time Prediction, Profiles, historical routes, etc.).

The responsibilities and duties listed above are flexible and subject to change based on operational need. 

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications


Education

Bachelor's degree in information systems, Business Systems, Management Information Systems, IT Management, or other IT degrees. Engineering, math, and science degrees are acceptable substitute degrees.


Experience

  • A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in a related position or field 
  • Experience with critical operations in a large-scale secure environment 
  • Strong hands-on experience with Unix/Linux (Red Hat Linux Enterprise Server/Workstation Suite and Red Hat Satellite Server Suite preferred) including knowledge of related hardware and software 
  • Detailed knowledge of the Unix methods and techniques used in systems administration and support 
  • Detailed knowledge of Unix principles and commands to include file editing and file manipulation 
  • Understanding of LAN/WAN networks 
  • Demonstrated experience supporting and following configuration management plans and processes, updating documentation, supporting annual authorization processes including independent testing teams 
  • Demonstrated experience providing system monitoring, access, effective stakeholder notification and communication, and various other engineering and operational activities 

Security Clearance Requirement

Candidate must have the ability to hold and maintain a Public Trust


Shift Details

  • Training Period: M-F approximately 08:00 AM– 4:00PM
  • Post-Training: 40 hours per week with the below being core hours required on-site

Tues: 10:00AM – 4:00PM

Wed: 10:00AM – 1:00PM; 7:00PM – 3:00AM

Thurs: 10:00AM – 4:00PM


*On-call 24/7 to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays


Other Required Skills and Abilities

  • Available for on-call support, if needed.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite including, but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
