Position Summary
We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner (APRN) to join our dynamic care team. This role manages common acute and chronic health conditions and functions as an interdependent member of the healthcare team through direct patient care, consultation, collaboration, coordination, and referral.
The APRN practices to the full scope of licensure in accordance with State and Federal laws and supports TFHC’s Patient Centered Medical Home model.
Essential Responsibilities
Provide patient care focused on health promotion, illness prevention, and health restoration
Perform patient histories, physical examinations, and medical or nursing diagnoses
Order, review, and interpret radiographic and laboratory tests and provide consultation as needed
Develop and implement treatment plans, including prescribing medications and follow up care
Provide consultation to patients, families, and interdisciplinary care team members
Educate patients and families on health promotion and illness prevention strategies
Participate in daily care team huddles
Mentor and serve as a preceptor to Physician Assistant and Nursing or APRN students
Float throughout the organization as needed to support patient care access
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to close care gaps
Ensure patient rights, privacy, dignity, and safety are upheld
Promote teamwork and positive public relations with patients and the community
Comply with HIPAA, State, Federal, HRSA, and TFHC regulations
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited APRN certification program with pediatric and adult medicine focus
Active and unrestricted Florida APRN license
Current BLS certification
Minimum of one year of APRN experience preferred, but not required
Skills & Abilities
Ability to work effectively with diverse social, economic, and ethnic populations
Strong critical thinking, clinical judgment, and delegation skills
Effective oral and written communication abilities
Preceptor and mentoring capabilities
Proficiency in electronic health record systems and Microsoft Office

Loan Repayment & Financial Support
This position is eligible for the NHSC Loan Repayment Program. Qualifying Nurse Practitioners may receive up to $75,000 in student loan repayment for a two year full time commitment, with opportunities for additional repayment through extended service, based on program eligibility and availability.
