Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced IT Procurement Specialist to manage the procurement of technology products, services, and software for Applied Digital LLC. The IT Procurement Specialist will be responsible for sourcing and acquiring IT-related goods and services, negotiating contracts with vendors, and ensuring that all purchases align with the company’s technology needs and budgetary constraints. This role is critical in supporting our IT operations and ensuring that we have the necessary tools and resources to achieve our business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the procurement process for all IT-related products, services, and software, including hardware, networking equipment, software licenses, cloud services, and more.
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify IT vendors and suppliers, ensuring they meet the company’s standards for quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with IT vendors to secure the best value for the company, including pricing, delivery schedules, and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Create, manage, and track purchase orders for IT products and services, ensuring timely delivery and accurate invoicing.
- Work closely with the finance team to manage the IT procurement budget, ensuring all purchases are within approved limits and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure all IT procurement activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements, including cybersecurity and data protection considerations.
- Coordinate with the Inventory Control Manager to ensure proper inventory levels of IT equipment and manage the lifecycle of technology assets.
- Maintain strong relationships with key IT vendors and suppliers, addressing any issues related to product quality, delivery, or service performance.
- Conduct market research to stay informed about emerging technologies, industry trends, and pricing benchmarks that may impact IT procurement decisions.
- Prepare and present regular reports on IT procurement activities, including spending, savings, vendor performance, and compliance, to senior management.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of IT procurement activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., CIPS, CISSP) is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT procurement or a related field, preferably in the technology, datacenter, or high-performance computing (HPC) sectors.
- Strong understanding of IT products, services, and software, as well as the technology needs of datacenter operations and HPC environments.
Skills:
- Expertise in IT vendor management, contract negotiation, and procurement strategies.
- Proficiency in procurement software, IT asset management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity and data protection considerations in IT procurement.
Certifications: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), or equivalent certification is a plus.
