- Monday & Tuesday - Star International Dearborn Heights Location
- Wednesday & Thursday - Universal Academy Detroit Location
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: May 2026
Hours: Monday - Thursday, 3:15 PM - 5:00 PM
Hourly Rate: $40/hour
Position Overview:
As a Part-Time After-School Teacher, you will provide enriching activities and academic support to students in a structured, safe, and fun environment. Your role will involve assisting with homework, leading educational activities, and creating a positive after-school experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage students in various activities.
- Provide homework assistance and academic support.
- Plan and implement educational and recreational activities.
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all students.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
Qualifications:
Education Requirement (one of the following):
- A minimum of 60 credit hours from an accredited university or college, or
- College Board’s SAT – Must score at least a 480 on evidence-based reading and writing, and a 530 on math, or
- ETS Parapro Assessment – A passing score of 460 is required
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s of Science or Arts in Education
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate and applicable endorsement(s) as required by the Michigan Department of Education
- Meet highly qualified teacher requirements
