As part of our mission to deliver exceptional service, we are seeking a dedicated EIR Medical Records Specialist to support our team by managing and safeguarding patient health information efficiently and accurately.
Position Overview:
The EIR Medical Records Specialist is responsible for the accurate handling, transmission, and uploading of medical records within the Interventional Radiology department. This position ensures compliance with HIPAA regulations while maintaining the integrity and accessibility of patient information. The role reports directly to the Scheduling Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all functions of medical records handling within EIR, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA and OSHA standards.
Request, retrieve, transmit, and upload medical records and imaging discs into both the company’s server and EMR/PACS systems.
Navigate EMR systems efficiently, including patient chart management and document uploads.
Utilize internal communication platforms effectively (Microsoft Teams, Email, Calendar, Planner, SharePoint, phones, Dayforce, etc.).
Organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks proactively with self-initiative and time management skills.
Communicate clearly and respectfully with internal teams and external facilities for record requests.
Monitor pending medical record requests and follow up to ensure timely completion.
Foster a positive, collaborative, and team-oriented work environment.
Stay informed of workflow updates, procedural changes, and departmental needs.
Complete additional assignments as directed by the Scheduling Manager.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with EMR and PACS systems.
Knowledge of medical record imaging terminology.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Self-driven, proactive, and able to work independently.
Strong integrity and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
Comfortable working on a computer for extended periods.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with internal teams and external facilities.
