Join the American Trucking Associations (ATA) as our Manager of Industry Affairs, Truck Programs!
The Manager of Truck Programs is an exciting opportunity to lead the coordination of four premier truck programs—Interstate One, Share the Road, Workforce Heroes, and Intermodal Motor Carriers—as they travel across the country, engaging communities and showcasing the dedication of professional truck drivers. This position offers a dynamic, high-energy work environment where you’ll work alongside a variety of stakeholders, ensuring our drivers and events are supported at the highest level.
This position has no supervisory or budgetary responsibilities.
In this role, you will:
- Oversee Program Management & Logistics: Coordinate truck program events to ensure smooth operations, compliance, and driver support.
- Act as Driver Liaison: Serve as the primary contact for professional drivers, assisting with paperwork, ELD logins, maintenance concerns, and travel arrangements.
- Plan and Execute Events: When event requests are submitted, ensure every detail—from travel logistics to on-site support—is flawlessly executed.
- Manage Selection & Training: Coordinate the biennial captain selection process, including organizing selection week and planning training for new captains.
- Engage Stakeholders: Work with ATA members, trucking companies, internal staff, vendors, and the public to foster strong relationships within the trucking industry.
- Track Financials & Sponsorships: Monitor program budgets (P&Ls) and collaborate with the communications team to highlight program sponsors and event successes.
- Coordinate Content & Media: Manage the production of three promotional videos presented at the ATA Management Conference & Exhibition.
- Ensure Speaker & Panel Coordination: Assist drivers in obtaining necessary approvals and providing the information they need when participating in webinars, panels, and industry boards.

- Must be able to work in the office on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Background Requirements
- Education/Background: BS/BA in Communications, Business, Hospitality, or related field, plus 5 years of experience.
- Experience: Demonstrated ability in managing integrated programs and member engagement. Association experience is a plus.
Skill Requirements:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in digital communications and social media.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (including presentation software) and internet research.
- Excellent organizational, time, and project management skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
