About this position
Maine Public Employees Retirement System (MainePERS) seeks an Administrative Assistant to join our Information Technology team. This position provides a variety of services to support the IT department under the general guidance of the IT Director. Duties include organizing, tracking, cataloging, updating, and maintaining Business Continuity information, vendor information, policies and practices, and general business documentation associated with IT administration within various systems. This position handles routine administrative work pertaining to Software/Contract Renewal, processing IT purchase orders, and their corresponding tracking tasks. The position provides research and document procurement for the Vendor Management Program and audits. This position serves the members by ensuring that IT employees are supported in their work.
Minimum qualifications:
- Associate’s degree with four years of progressively responsible and relevant administrative experience –OR- any equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- Knowledge and/or experience with documentation preparation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel at the Intermediate level.
- Proficient in MS Word.
- Willingness to participate in and successfully complete Microsoft SharePoint training.
- Ability to travel within the state; valid driver’s license and maintenance of a good driving record.
Preferred qualifications:
- Prior experience in the use of Microsoft products including SharePoint to create, update, and organize documents.
- Prior experience with business continuity planning.
- Strong proficiency and/or certification in Microsoft products including an emphasis on SharePoint.
- Document Control Certification.
Rate of pay begins at: $21.83/hr or $45,406 if annualized
