Hours

Mon-Thurs. 6:30AM-3:30PM, Fri. 6:30AM-12:30PM - 1st shift

Summary/Objective

The Painter is responsible for the proper application of powder to parts and assemblies using manual spray equipment. This position plays a key role in producing high-quality, durable finishes that meet customer and internal specifications. The Painter works in coordination with the paint line team to ensure timely production and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Essential Functions

• Applies powder paint to parts using a spray gun or other manual application methods.
• Prepares surfaces for painting, including cleaning, masking, and touch-up as needed.
• Inspects parts before, during, and after painting to ensure quality, coverage, and color consistency.
• Monitors oven settings, curing cycles, and line speed to ensure proper adhesion and finish.
• Mixes and prepares coatings according to manufacturer specifications.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area, including spray booth, paint equipment, and surrounding workspace.
• Follows all safety procedures and utilizes proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Communicates with team members to ensure flow of parts and meet production schedules
• Assists with routine maintenance and troubleshooting of spray equipment and related systems.

Work Environment

The Painter works in a fast-paced manufacturing setting with regular exposure to paint fumes, chemicals, airborne particles, and machinery noise. Proper ventilation and safety equipment are provided.

Physical Demands

This role requires standing for long periods, frequent lifting of materials up to 50 pounds, and occasional lifting up to 75 pounds. Repetitive movements, reaching, bending, and use of hands and arms are frequent. Visual acuity, including color vision and depth perception, is essential.
