Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Summer Camp Manager to join our team for our sport focused summer camps. As a Camp Manager, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, fun, and engaging environment for children. You will be responsible for leading teams of Camp Counselors, coordinating activities, providing guidance, and fostering a sense of community among campers. Responsibilities
- Oversee the Camp Counselors, providing guidance, input and coaching to assure that the goals of camp are met.
- Communicate with and receive from parents, essential information regarding campers.
- Coordinate with fellow PCC staff in order to execute daily camp activities.
- Supervise and engage with campers during daily activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Provide first aid assistance when necessary and maintain a safe environment.
- Instruct campers aged four and above in club sports, such as golf, squash, tennis, and swimming. Teach skills using demonstration and repetition, offering praise and encouragement.
- Engage preschool aged children in activities such as crafts, singing, games, and play designed to support early childhood development.
- Respond to the needs of each camper in a consistent and predictable manner, showing warmth and sensitivity at all times.
- Practice unconditional regard for each child regardless of their behavior.
- Encourage understanding of others and positive self-concepts while modeling appropriate interpersonal skills.
- Maintain an environment that respects the individual needs of each camper while balancing the needs of the group and the camp schedule.
- Address behavioral concerns while maintaining the dignity of each camper with least restrictive responses to correction that focus on the behavior not the child.
- As necessary, provide custodial care for campers, including assistance with changing.
Ideal candidates will possess the following skills and experience:
- Bachelors degree in education, special education or child development.
- Experience working directly with children as a teacher or similar role.
- Knowledge of first aid practices; certification is a plus.
- Strong behavior management skills to effectively guide campers through challenges.
- A passion for educating and inspiring young minds through engaging activities.
