Position Overview

We are seeking a strong, confident, and highly capable Build‑Only Project Manager to lead the full build process for electrical control and distribution panels within our Sterling Heights facility.

This role serves as the central liaison inside the operation—coordinating engineering, production, purchasing, leadership, and customers—ensuring every panel build is executed to Indicon’s highest standards.

This is a 100% onsite role with zero travel.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management – Panel Builds

  • Manage the full build lifecycle for electrical panels and assemblies.
  • Estimate labor, materials, and build complexity.
  • Ensure accurate interpretation of drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout details.
  • Track timelines, deliverables, and production progress.
  • Resolve issues quickly to maintain quality and schedule.

Internal Coordination & Communication

  • Serve as the main liaison between customers, engineering, production, purchasing, and leadership.
  • Communicate expectations and updates clearly and consistently.
  • Ensure materials, documentation, and engineering inputs align with production needs.

Technical & Controls Expertise

  • Apply controls knowledge to validate technical requirements.
  • Review panel layouts and wiring details to ensure compliance.
  • Confirm build quality meets engineering and customer standards.

Customer Interaction

  • Communicate professionally with customers regarding build status and technical clarifications.
  • Represent Indicon with confidence and poise.
  • Provide proactive problem‑solving and timely updates.

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years as a Controls Engineer, Controls Technician, or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of control panel wiring, assembly processes, schematics, and layouts.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead discussions.
  • Ability to work onsite daily at the Sterling Heights facility.
  • High level of organization, ownership, and accountability.

Preferred

  • Experience estimating panel builds.
  • Manufacturing or assembly environment experience.
  • Prior project management experience (or strong interest in stepping into PM responsibilities).
