Pioneer Athletics – Human Resources Intern
Position Summary
Pioneer Athletics is seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Human Resources Intern to support our HR department in both daily operations and long‑term project initiatives. This internship is designed to provide hands‑on experience across core HR functions including onboarding, offboarding, employee engagement, benefits support, compliance, and HR systems. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Daily HR Operations
• Assist with general HR administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, scheduling, and document management.
• Maintain employee records and ensure accuracy and confidentiality of HR information.
• Respond to routine employee inquiries and help route HR‑related questions to the appropriate team member.
• Support HRIS updates, personnel changes, workflow tracking, and reporting activities.
Onboarding & Offboarding
• Prepare onboarding materials and assist with new hire orientation activities.
• Coordinate new hire documentation, background checks, and system setup.
• Ensure onboarding and offboarding checklists are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Project‑Based Work
• Contribute to special HR projects related to employee engagement, policy updates, compliance, and process improvement.
• Conduct research on HR best practices and provide recommendations to the HR team.
• Assist in developing or refining HR communications, training materials, and internal resources.
• Support data analysis and reporting for HR initiatives.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks.
• Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
• Ability to navigate Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
• Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities
