About Us
Miscellaneous Metals, Inc. is a leading steel fabrication and installation company serving commercial and industrial customers. We are seeking a senior operational leader to oversee and integrate company-wide operations and support long-term leadership succession.


The Role
The Director of Operations oversees day-to-day operations with a strong focus on project execution, production flow, and cross-functional coordination. This role provides leadership across project management, engineering/detailing, fabrication, field operations, and safety, ensuring projects move efficiently from contract award through fabrication and installation. This position reports directly to the Owner and works closely with the President.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Project Management team, ensuring alignment of schedules, budgets, and production timelines
  • Oversee weekly production and coordination meetings
  • Coordinate fabrication schedules with the Shop Manager
  • Oversee Engineering/Detailing and Field Operations through department leadership
  • Establish and monitor operational performance metrics related to production, schedule adherence, and labor efficiency
  • Lead monthly Safety Committee meetings and promote a strong safety culture
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, safety, and quality standards
  • Partner with finance on operational budgets and cost controls
  • Serve as a liaison across operations, sales, estimating, HR, and customer service
REQUIRED INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE (NON-NEGOTIABLE)
  • 10+ years of progressive operations leadership experience in steel fabrication (Division 5 commercial construction).
  • Proven experience managing project managers and production-driven environments
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or related Master’s preferred
