Activity/Recreation Associate For Assisted Living

Do you enjoy making people happy and creating a fun atmosphere for older adults? If yes, then you could be a

fit for an activities position at Seacrest! 

Ideal candidates could have:

• Prior experience in activities in an elder care setting or daycare
•  PCA experience also helpful (in home care or facility setting)
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Creativity and ability to engage with diverse patient population
• Ability to manage their own schedule along with recreation program
• Enjoy engaging with dementia/Alzheimer’s clients as well as the retirement population.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise, monitor and engage with residents during recreational activities
• Coordinate with and schedule local entertainers/volunteers to visit the facility
•  Meet with new residents to become familiar with their past hobbies and interest
• Order decorations/supplies for events as necessary
• Develop relationships with resident family members. Invite family members to facility events

Examples of Activities

• Leading and hosting craft groups, games, etc
• Leading discussions on community events
• Hosting book talks
• Walking groups
• Exercise sessions
