Custodian / Laundry - Inspire Georgia

Position Title: Custodian/Laundry – Inspire Georgia

Reports To: Office Manager – Inspire Georgia   

Summary of the Job:

The Custodian/Laundry worker is responsible for multiple tasks ranging from washing and folding laundry items to keeping buildings clean and in orderly condition. The Custodian/Laundry worker maintains cleanliness in compliance with agency and health standards. The Custodian/Laundry worker should be committed to Sanctuary practice utilizing tools that reinforce our shared language to create a trauma-responsive culture.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Cleaning and maintaining laundry room area and equipment.
2. Sorting linens, towels, clothing by client.
3. Washing items following proper sanitation protocols.
4. Stocking laundry supplies such as detergent, bleach, laundry bags and fabric softener
5. Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming of floors.
6. Disposing of trash and emptying trash receptacles.
7. Dusting furniture, walls, and equipment. 
8. Scrubbing, sanitizing, and supplying restroom facilities.
9. Utilize personal safety plan for managing emotions and interactions with staff and clients.
10. Represent agency favorably at all times.
11. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. At least 21 years old. 
2. High school diploma or GED and one or more years of full-time paid experience previously required to perform tasks assigned or successful completion of a formal training curriculum from a technical college or school pertaining to skills need to perform tasks assigned. 
3. Adequate training or experience to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to perform duties assigned.
4. Physical health to perform tasks assigned, occasionally lift/carry parcels up to 50 pounds.
5. Should be able to follow oral and written instructions.
6. Display the motivation and desire to learn and develop advanced skills.
7. Able to show proof of required vaccinations/immunizations.

1. Agree to abide by all the policies, rules, guidelines and regulations of the Georgia Baptist Children's Homes and Family Ministries, Inc. 
2. Exhibit tactfulness and good judgment in dealing with people.
3. Familiar with traditional Baptist tenets, customs and practices and shall maintain a compatible lifestyle.
4. Meet all employee guidelines and qualifications as outlined by GBCH & FM, license, contracts, and accreditation.
5. Exhibit the Core Values of Georgia Baptist Children’s Homes and Family Ministries, Inc.
6. Utilize the Sanctuary Model of Care and conduct job responsibilities in a trauma-responsive manner.
7. Have the ability to work in partnership with other members in a team approach.
8. Arrive to work on time and as scheduled.
9. Achieve and accomplish annual goals assigned by supervisor or provide acceptable documentation as to why goals were not met. 
10. Understanding of confidential issues and protected information assigned under HIPAA.
11. Complete required staff development hours within the program including 24 hours in childcare related training, current CPR, 1st Aid and approved emergency safety intervention training.
