Role: This position defines infrastructure architecture strategies, directions, standards, and management to include disaster recovery, security, systems, servers, applications, monitoring, performance, and storage. This position manages a team of systems engineers responsible for server, cloud, and application administration. This role must ensure reliable 24x7 operations and be a champion for Blaze’s journey to Cloud. This is a visible, strategic role tasked with building and maintaining a best-in-class Operations function that operates with a Cloud-first mindset.


 Job Type: Full-time, on-site at our Westminster Administrative office in St Paul, MN   


Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work in conjunction with the IT leadership team to assess and implement a hybrid server infrastructure that includes a Cloud based strategy.
  • Working with other leaders in IT to continuously assess current patching and software deployment processes to identify risks and/or bottlenecks and implement solutions towards achieving continuous uptime and enhanced security in support of DevOps and CI/CD.
  • Partner with Information Security to deliver on key information security and IT risk related initiatives and ensuring compliance with or mitigation of audit and exam findings.
  • Implement and manage processes and controls that assure maximum uptime, continual improvement, and quick service for both on-prem and Cloud workloads.
  • Develop and implement a robust Disaster Recovery strategy for critical systems and server infrastructure as well as a resilient server infrastructure eliminating single points of failure.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, deployment, management, and maintenance of systems/applications, monitoring tools, upgrades, and administration of all IT systems to include applications, servers, storage, and databases to ensure proactive and timely identification and resolution of problems in the computing environment.
  • Establish service level agreements (SLAs) and operating level agreements in alignment with company objectives and customer needs.
  • Manage third party vendor relationships and hold them accountable for delivery of outsourced functions including negotiating and management of contracts with key service providers to ensure service levels are met. 
  • Establish standardized processes and key operational metrics to effectively manage performance and operations.

Requirements:

Experience/Education/Certifications/Licenses

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline preferred, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Minimum of 7–8 years of IT experience with a focus on cloud technologies, infrastructure, data centers, messaging and collaboration platforms, Microsoft 365 (O365), and wide area networks (WAN)

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit and stand; answer calls; operate computer; interact with internal staff and public on the phone; travel to designated offices; lift up to 20 lbs.

We are committed to providing salary ranges for all open positions. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on your experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity considerations. 


The salary range for this position is: $110,000-$140,000/annually.  This range reflects the base salary for this position. We have other benefits associated with this position which include: low-cost medical (as low as $20 a paycheck), dental insurance, vision insurance, quarterly bonuses, generous vacation and sick time hours, paid leave options, up to 6% 401k contribution, and tuition reimbursement.
