SUMMARY & ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES of the Community Crisis Specialist:
Performs community outreach and service coordination activities to support the delivery of services to community members, under the supervision of the Emergency & family Services Administrator.
• Collects, verifies, and compiles client intake and eligibility documentation in accordance with multiple funding source requirements and program guidelines
- Educates community members on available programs, services, eligibility criteria, and referral pathways
- Distributes written and digital materials related to community resources, services, and identified needs
- Conducts targeted outreach and follow-up with individuals and groups to promote service engagement and continuity of care
- Coordinates, hosts, and participates in community engagement and outreach events, including evening and weekend activities as required
- Accurately enters and maintains high-volume client intake and service data within designated data management systems, ensuring data quality and confidentiality compliance
- Supports and staffs direct service events, including food distributions and the preparation and packing of food and resource bags for community members.
- Performs all other duties as assigned
- Salary Level: $19.23 hourly - 40,000 annually

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate’s Degree (A.A.) in human services or social sciences discipline and three years related experience and/or training; or at least High School Diploma and five years related experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of individuals or employees of the organization.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Data Entry. Sensitivity to needs of low –income individuals and families. Emotional maturity, mental awareness, dependability and ability to develop and maintain rapport with area residents.
While preforming the duties of this position, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
